Member Cheques to be Withdrawn
14 November, 2023
Member Cheques and the Credit Union’s Corporate Cheques will be no longer available after the 31st December 2023.
The Management of CWCU were left with no option than to withdraw the facility as our supplier gave notice that the facility would be no longer available to CWCU or its members.
Members with a cheque facility need to make sure that they stop writing out cheques well before the 31st December 2023.
We understand that there may be a delay in your cheque being presented, so please ensure that you give the payee sufficient time to bank the cheque prior to the 31
st December 2023.
Should your cheque be presented after the 31
st December 2023, you risk that the cheque will be dishonoured and returned to the payee unpaid with the answer “Refer to Drawer".
It is now time for you to explore alternative payment options, such as Online Banking from your home computer or from your mobile phone/ ipad via our CWCU App and bill payment services offered in branch. Please contact your nearest branch and discuss your options with our staff
Will I still be able to deposit Cheques?
At this stage you will still be able to continue to deposit cheques at any of our branches.
What do I need to do?
If you write cheques to pay bills you are urged to make alternative arrangements as soon as possible.
- Already use and enjoy the convenience of on-line service or our mobile app?
The change should have little impact. Please safely dispose of your cheque book and switch all future bill payments to your preferred online or phone services.
- You don’t currently have an alternative to paying by cheque?
We will help you choose and arrange the best alternative to suit you. Please call into your nearest CWCU branch or call us, Parkes 02 68622788, Forbes 02 68523571 or Cowra 02 63424142
