Our People, Our Community, Their Achievements

18 June, 2018

At Central West Credit Union, we believe it’s really important to get behind the local people in our region, because they are they key to ensuring our communities thrive and succeed.

This means we provide support where we can and celebrate their achievements when they reach their goals.

At the end of financial year, we like to reflect on some of these people, to see how far they’ve come. This goes for both our staff - and other members of the community.

One of our brightest stars for 2018 has been Casey Hewen from Grenfell, who started a traineeship in Cowra in January after finishing her HSC.

She is meeting all her milestones and has learnt so much in her first six months with us. We look forward to seeing what else she pulls out of the bag!

Feel free to pop into the Cowra branch to say hello - she enjoys all sports, especially League Tag and loves socialising with her friends.

While we have a strong focus on training the young people who begin their career and training at CWCU, we also encourage and nurture our staff to continue learning, by offering external training.

A fantastic example of this is Kahlia Hayes and Meaghan Pye, who are two very enthusiastic Member Service Officers in Parkes. They are always striving to learn new things and broaden their knowledge.

They have recently achieved new qualifications. Ms Hayes has completed a Certificate III & IV in Financial Services and Ms Pye has completed a Certificate III & IV in Financial Services and Certificate III in Mercantile Agents.

Well done ladies, you are great role models for our younger staff members.

Meanwhile, the nominations are rolling in for the annual Forbes Junior Sports Achiever of the year Award, sponsored by CWCU.

The monthly winners have been calling into the branch and after hearing their achievements we have some very talented young sports people in Forbes.

We would like to acknowledge:

  • Jemma Hodder (Swimming)
  • Chet Read (Motor cross)
  • Jessica Ashcroft (Rugby League Referee)
  • Ben Molloy (All rounder)

Well done to everyone who has been nominated, we think you’re all very talented.
