Farewell Leanore! Time to put your feet up.
May was a sad month for CWCU, as we said farewell to one of our star employees, Leanore Smith, as she embarks on a new adventure.
Lea was our longest serving employee, working with us for 33 years. Those in the Cowra branch were lucky enough to have her as a manager.
We all enjoyed a farewell morning tea with Lea, where she was joined by staff and family, including her mother Josie, her son Clancy and her granddaughter Charlie.
Several members also joined in the festivities, as they wished to farewell one of their favourites.
An official staff dinner followed, where many staff members spoke about how much Lea had done to assist them, over the years.
While being very excited to begin her new adventure, Leanore said it was difficult to be leaving the tight-knit CWCU family after all this time.
“It’s been the most rewarding job,” she said.
“Just to be able to have members come in and you can help them attain their dreams, buying a car or buying their house.
“I’ve looked after three generations of the same families helping them with, lending and opening accounts, it’s been an amazing journey. I feel really humbled now with the support of all my members, wishing me the best,” she said.
While we are definitely sad to see her go, we are also very excited for her as she begins her new journey.
Good luck Lea, we will miss you!
