This year, Central West Credit Union again conducted it's "Community Dividend Fund" as yet another initiative directed as supporting local communities.
The Credit Union Board decided to donate $5,000 to the Victorian Bushfire Victims and the remainder was split between the Parkes Mens Shed, The Neighbourhood Centre in Parkes and Forbes Town Band each receiving $2,500. These distributions were in addition to the many individual donations and sponsorships within local communities already provided by the Credit Union.
The objectives of the Credit Union's Community Dividend Fund continue this philosophy, and remain:
Preference for funding is given to projects which demonstrate a high degree of self-help, either in the form of the applicant's own efforts and work already undertaken, or in the form of actual physical or financial resources committed to the project. Projects must appeal to a broad sector of the community and the benefits generated by projects should be available across a number of sectors of the community.
General Manager of the Credit Union, Brett Hartin, stated "The Credit Union has been deeply committed to support of our local communities from it's inception, and the Community Dividend Fund continues to demonstrate this level of commitment."
